Office Ministry

Chinese Media Christian Fellowship (CMCF) – pre-evangelistic CNY dinner(27/2/2010)
While the Chinese New year mood was still around, CMCF took hold of the opportunity to hold a meeting to foster relationship with one another. Among 20 over who came, we have a few new faces (non-believers). They were invited by their Christian colleagues for the Chinese New Year Gathering. Sisters Rita and Thing Yan lively led the meeting. Brother Teck Huat gave a short message. They really enjoyed interacting with one another and the sharing time.

FujiXerox pre-evangelistic Chinese New Year Luncheon (23/2/2010)
Christians in FujiXerox were also taking advantage of the Chinese New Year festive season before it ends to hold luncheon fellowship with their colleagues. 11 came. A few of them are non-believers. Fun topics and a good dining area was a good start. Many commented looking forward to have more of such gatherings in the near future. The Christians also distributed red gospel Angpows (packets) to their colleagues! This group of Christians, who are from different churches, often pray for their colleagues for their salvation.

I want to thank God for raising these people to carry out His salvation plan for the workplace. As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!" (Rom. 10:15)

Your faithful prayer support and partnership in my ministry has been a great encouragement to me. May God bless you richly for every penny you invest in His kingdom. God bless you!

Leader Impact ministry: Creation Mandate Seminar (10/1/2010)

Dr. Leong Tien Fook expounded, from the OT scriptures, on the meaning of creation mandate (frequently refer to as Cultural mandate) which was issued by God before the Fall of humanity. It emphasizes creative activities in taking care of His creation in which God is glorified. About 90 people from different professional fields attended the seminar, which was held in Malaysia Campus Crusade for Christ chapel. Dr. Leong pointed out the best way to bring in the kingdom of God into the polluted workplace, so as to reclaim the seven mountains, namely Media, Education, Family, Business, Politics, Arts and Entertainment, and Religion, is to make disciples of the people from these sectors. Disciples are those who follow God’s will in every aspect of their lives and seek first God’s kingdom and His righteousness. From the comment slips, some responded that they would like to journey and network with other committed followers of Christ in different sectors. Following after the seminar, a group of lawyers and Chinese media professionals have already started to plan for event to call for Christians to influence their own fields.

After sometime of prayer and seeking God, God helps the staff see that we can reach the professionals through seven mountains. Thank God for His leading. The direction for Leader Movement is clearer now. Though there are areas of unknown as we journey toward “the mountain”, we are sure of God’s guidance as we seek Him from time to time. The staff are assigned to different fields to work with the professionals to help them reach their own sectors. I am assigned to work with the Chinese Media professionals.

Leader Impact Ministry: Christmas Dinner cum Talk “My life A Gift For You” (16/12/2009)

Although the mood in the air was one of Christmas celebration, state assemblywoman of Subang Jaya, Y.B. Hannah Yeoh, the invited speaker brought to us not a time to exchange gifts, but a time to dedicate our life as a gift for God. The meeting was meaningfully led by artiste Juwita Suwito, the emcee for the night. A special inspirational feature was presented by The Tenors for Christ. A crowd of 88 working professionals from different spheres of influence attended the meeting. Many commented positively on Hannah’s talk; her sharing opened their eyes to what God can do with ordinary Christians and helped them see that God has a higher purpose and calling for their lives. In her sharing, Hannah highlighted the importance of being quick to obey God and being faithful to God’s call despite the cost involved in following Christ. In spite of the sacrifices and challenges that awaited them, she and her team decided not to be a part of those who corrupt but to be counted as among those who shape the nation for good. She simply exercised the two basic gifts God gave her—her right to vote and to stand for election. If Christians avail themselves and exercise their rights, they can be a part of lawmakers and guardians of the constitution.

Intensive Biblical Studies

Intensive Biblical Studies (19-30/10/2009)

Staff of MCCC needs to stop their ministry for a while to prepare their heart for two weeks intensive biblical studies - “Inductive Bible Study” and “Transforming Leadership”. These courses are very helpful to Christian living. The former talks about how we can study the Word of God in a systematic way, the latter is to help Christian build a habit to walk intimately with God. I was assigned to be one of the courses assistant. Most of the night, I was burning the midnight oil in order to finish marking the papers, and give out papers before a new lesson began. My physical and mental were over-strained. When the course was over, my body was giving red signal. Through this experience, God reminds me that His grace is sufficient for everyone. I do no

t need to compete with time nor to exact myself harshly trying to finish things entrusted to me. God knows our needs. He will provide help on time.

A Review on “Pilgrim Progress” Movie Version

One of the assignments for Transfo

rming Leadership Biblical Study is to watch John Bunyan’s Pilgrim Progress. It is an inspirational story where the author gives a blueprint for Christian what to expect in their pilgrim progress. What the main character in the narratives went through, such as challenges, difficulties, trials and failures in life, we also have similar experiences in life. Though we may be like Christian (the name of the main character) defeated by satan and worried, at times. But God is in control. If Christian perseveres, trusts and obeys God’s Word, cries out to God for help, God will deliver him and grant him strength, comfort, wisdom and grace to move on. In the end, he will enter the promised land. Micah 7:8 “Do not gloat over me, my enemy! Though I

have fallen, I will rise. Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light.”
